Şeref Can Arat
Can’s core practice areas cover construction, finance (on both contentious and non-contentious matters) and dispute resolution while his experience and professional interest have a wider range.   

Can has significant experience with regards to infrastructure and energy projects which include: tendering procedures and documentation, setting up joint ventures and consortia, drafting and negotiating shareholders agreements, services agreements; FIDIC contracts (including Red, Yellow, Silver Books), ad-hoc construction contracts, Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts; operation and maintenance (O&M) agreements; power purchase agreements (PPAs); project finance documentation; PPP models such as Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT), Build-Operate (BO), Build-Lease-Transfer (BLT); construction claim management; litigation, dispute adjudication and arbitration for construction disputes.  

Can also has extensive experience in corporate law transactions and disputes. His experience covers: M&A transactions, due diligences, issues regarding board composition, power delegation, annulment of general assembly resolutions, capital increase and decrease, corporate restructuring.  

Can is a member of the Executive Board of Young ISTAC (Istanbul Arbitration Center), Istanbul Bar & Union of Turkish Bar Associations, International Bar Association, Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and the ICC Turkey National Committee.
